Description With the increase in awareness for Alkaline Water, more and more companies are springing up, sourcing various water ionizers from China, Korea, Malaysia, and Japan. One such company is the AlkaFresh brand, currently offering a compact ionizer, The AlkaFresh MiniMAX. This product does fill a void in the market place and initial tests have [...]
More Details »Industry and Government Certifications Why they are important to you and your family Quality and Safety Certifications? A major feature for ionizers that people often overlook are the certifications the machine contains. Most consumers usually spend the bulk of their time researching the amount of power, plates and filtration of the machines, but fail to [...]
More Details »Overall the LIFE 9000 proved to be the most technologically advanced and efficient machine that we tested. We liked the fact that they offer both flat and true MESH plates as well as an optional UV disinfecting light to kill off bacteria. This machine proved to be very strong and was able to reach very high pH settings as well as consistently low ORP readings. LIFE does charge slightly more for MESH plates and the UV light, however, the machine is already reasonably priced at $2997.00 since it is sold through direct sales and not an MLM (multi level marketing).

More Details »The LIFE 8100 proved to be the most technologically advanced and efficient of the under counter machines that we tested. The LIFE 8100 is the under counter version of the LIFE 7600 and produces exactly the same so if you are deciding between an under counter or counter top unit it really just comes down to personal preference. Having just the 8100 faucet on your sink instead of the entire machine does make usage very convenient and aesthetically looks a lot better as well. The other plus of this machine is that you can actually detach the unit from under your sink and use it as a counter top unit if you were to travel. The LIE 8100 comes with a 10 year warranty so in our opinion just like the 7600 you are getting a lot for you money.
More Details »Although priced high at $2097.00, the Jupiter Athena should be looked at as a mid-range quality ionizer. It is solidly built and has proven to be a reliable ionizer over the years. However, it’s lack of power and plates cause for not quite as strong an ionization as some of the other machines in this price range like the LIFE 7600 and Tyent 7070 Turbo. It is important to remember that the strength of ionization is dependent on a ratio between the amount of power and power type, plate size (amount of time the water spends on the plates) and flow rate. So with only 5 plates and 105 watts that is ultimately what led to only a two star rating. The Jupiter Athena does have a strong company backing though.

More Details »With not that many true under counter ionizers available, the Delphi was the only other machine besides the LIFE 8100 that we felt was a quality enough machine to review. More Details »Overall the Enagic SD 501 ranked toward the top of all the machines we tested. This machine has a lot of power and 7 plates that make up for not having some of the newer technologies available in ionization. However, the machine is still able to reach pH and ORP readings that would be expected by a higher end ionizer. Unfortunately, we are not a fan of the fact you have to use chemical enhancers to achieve these very high and low pH levels. The main drawback of this machine is the very high price tag of $3,980.00 which is due to the MLM (multi level marketing) structure that the machine is sold through. It would be smart for Enagic (Kangen) if that sometime soon they update the SD501 with some of the newer more efficient ionizer technologies available.
