Overall the Enagic SD 501 ranked toward the top of all the machines we tested. This machine has a lot of power and 7 plates that make up for not having some of the newer technologies available in ionization. However, the machine is still able to reach pH and ORP readings that would be expected by a higher end ionizer. Unfortunately, we are not a fan of the fact you have to use chemical enhancers to achieve these very high and low pH levels. The main drawback of this machine is the very high price tag of $3,980.00 which is due to the MLM (multi level marketing) structure that the machine is sold through. It would be smart for Enagic (Kangen) if that sometime soon they update the SD501 with some of the newer more efficient ionizer technologies available.
