Life Ionizer™ 7700
Overall the LIFE 7700 proved to be the most technologically advanced and efficient machine that we tested. We liked the fact that they offer both flat and true MESH plates as well as an optional UV disinfecting light to kill off bacteria. This machine proved to be very strong and was able to reach very high pH settings as well as consistently low ORP readings. LIFE does charge slightly more for MESH plates and the UV light, however, the machine is already reasonably priced at $1997.00 since it is sold through direct sales and not an MLM (multi level marketing).
Life Ionizer™ 9200
The new LIFE 9200 is the under counter model for LIFE’s flagship 9000 series. It is by far the most technologically advanced and efficient under counter ionizer that we tested. The LIFE 9200 is an incredibly powerful system; it is able to reach very high pH settings as well as consistently low ORP readings without the use of additional chemicals. The high-end LIFE 9200 is value priced at 2997.00, equivalent to many other manufacturer’s mid-range quality systems
Life Ionizer™ 9100

Enagic® LeveLuk SD 501™
The Enagic® SD 501 ranked favorably among all the machines we tested. The SD501 features a 7 plate system, which uses flat plates. Unfortunately, Enagic® does not currently offer MESH plate technology. The pricing of the SD 501 gave us sticker shock; it is priced at $3,980.00 – far higher than many comparable systems tested.
Life Ionizer™ 7600
The LIFE 7600 represents an excellent value in seven (7) plate ionization technology. As with all LIFE Ionizer systems it can be fitted with both flat and true MESH plates as well as an optional UV disinfecting light to kill off bacteria and parasite cysts. The 2010 model features titanium plates that are double-dipped in platinum. Use of the Life Acid Supplement allows the system to reach a pH level as low as 2. The LIFE Ionizers 7600 is economically priced at $2497 with an introductory price of $1997.

The LIFE 9000 produces water with excellent high pH, and consistently low ORP readings. The LIFE 9000 is an outstanding value for the money, priced at $2997.
AlkaFresh™ MiniMAX
The Life Ionizer 5100 is one of the most efficient five (5) plate machine that we tested. This is in part due to the use of the advanced SMPS (switch mode) power system that replaces the old-fashioned transformer.
Life Ionizer™ 8100
The LIFE 8100 features a technologically sophisticated design, and high efficiency. The system uses the advanced SMPS (switch mode) power system instead of a transformer for greater efficiency. As with all the high-end LIFE Ionizers, it offers both flat and true MESH plates as well as an optional UV disinfecting light to kill off bacteria and parasitic cysts. The LIFE 8100 is the under the counter version of the LIFE 7600, it produces very high pH values as well as consistently low negative ORP readings. A huge plus for this machine is the ease with which it can be detached from under your sink and used as a countertop unit when you travel. You will never need to worry about the quality of the water you are drinking! The LIFE 8100 is list-priced at $2597.
Jupiter Athena
Although priced high at $2097.00, the Jupiter Athena should be looked at as a mid-range quality ionizer. It is solidly built and has proven to be a reliable ionizer over the years. However, it’s lack of power and plates cause for not quite as strong an ionization as some of the other machines in this price range like the LIFE 7600 and Tyent 7070 Turbo. It is important to remember that the strength of ionization is dependent on a ratio between the amount of power and power type, plate size (amount of time the water spends on the plates) and flow rate. So with only 5 plates and 105 watts that is ultimately what led to only a two star rating. The Jupiter Athena does have a strong company backing though.
